ROCKING HAMMOCK: AN INTERESTING PIECE OF FURNITURE BY 3 FEMALE STUDENTS IN INDIA

Three design students at MIT Institute of Design in Pune, India,  Harshita Murudkar, Shivani Gulati and Mehak Philip came up with the idea of combining a hammock and rocking chair for an assignment, that challenged them to design and create a furniture prototype in just 2 weeks.

The chair features a fairly simple metal frame, with the seating created by weaving cotton threads in 3 different styles. The final prototype is offers a textured, ethnic vibe that is also quite simple and looks fairly comfortable.
