Nay Palad Bird Nest in Kenya by Daniel Pouzet

[dropcap size=big]S[/dropcap]et in the heart of the Laikipia plains, one of Kenya’s most iconic safari locations, the NAY PALAD Bird Nest is a one-of-a-kind accommodation on the grounds of the award-winning Segera Retreat. Designed by French architect Daniel Pouzet, the destinations is loosely described as “the world’s smallest luxury hotel (and largest bird nest)”, as it perches amid the treetops on a river teeming with wildlife. (see more on the official website).

The Bird Nest features a 360 degree birds-eye-view of the surrounding scenery and wildlife via the rooftop deck enveloped by a thicket of ‘branches’ that form the proverbial bird nest. The bedroom of the nest is designed to sleep two and features a fully-equipped bathroom with solar heated running water and a flushing toilet.
