335 place in Accra by Boogertman and partners features a facade inspired by Ghanaian fabrics and textiles.

335 Place in Accra, Ghana is a 12 storey office/commercial building with a distinct ‘box within a box’ design.

Designed SA-based Boogertman and Partners, the architecture of 335 Place is inspired by a mix of fabrics, textiles and textures found in Ghanaian culture and traditions. This mix finds expression in the use of pattern on both the angled glass facade and louvered facade of the building.

Playing with varying shades of grey, light-weight concrete panels along the wider façade emulate traditional rectangular patterning founding kente cloth. Aluminium louvres and the sleek glass façade are offset against these textured panels. The contrast of elements between the different elevations emphasises the vertical height of the face of the building. The design seeks to effectively reduce solar heat gain through optimized shading.

The ground floor caters to retail and restaurant spaces amongst other functions. The 4 floors above ground create a parking podium which accomodates over 300 cars while the 8 floors atop the aforementioned podium accommodate at total a total of 32 lettable office spaces (each one over 250 sqm) planned around a central core. The building is topped out with a high end roof top bar/restaurant offering charming views of the surrounding locale.
