Mind the Gap: An Open House Lagos ‘Fringe Event’ Organised by AAND to Explore Interstitial Spaces in the City

As part of the Open House Lagos 2017 Programme, AAND are hosting a symposium titled ‘Mind The Gap’ – Rethinking and Reclaiming Interstitial Spaces in the City, in line with this year’s theme of ‘Resilience’.

The symposium aims to reflect on Lagos’ ability to persevere in the face of emergency, to continue it’s core mission despite daunting challenges and will focus on setbacks and boundary spaces, on how they are formally and informally occupied, looking at the notion of both horizontal and vertical occupations.

A short presentation will be prepared by guest speakers to be announced in the coming days with examples of in-between or ‘interstitial’ spaces in our city through various projects and documentary photography.

The event will be held at the British Council,20 Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi (Lagos) on Thursday the 20th of April. Please email africanalliance.nd@gmail.com to reserve your space.
