Nigerian President Buhari Assents To Bill Increasing Architects’ Penalty Fee From N1,000 To N500,000

According to a report by Sahara Reporters, President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to the Architects Registration Council Amendment Bill.

The bill was one of two bills passed by the 8th National Assembly, as confirmed by Senator Ita Enang, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), at a news conference in Abuja, this past Wednesday.

The bill will see the penalty fee of the council increased from N1,000 to N500,000 in a bid to enhance the architect registration process. In addition, the bill was designed to enhance the council’s penalties and make the appeals from the disciplinary committee lie with the high courts.
