A sneak peak at the Adunni Chair, the latest design from the Ile Ila furniture brand

[dropcap size=big]N[/dropcap]igerian furniture brand Ile Ila recently shared with us a sneak peek at promotional video content for their latest design, affectionately named, “The Adunni Chair”.

We first came across the chair at last year’s ACDF event and a second time at the inaugural edition of the Fusion of Real Estate, Interior Design and Art (FREIA 2017). The Adunni chair marks the third iteration from the Ile Ila house of lines range, and is actually described as a hybrid of the ‘Arm Chair’ and ‘Line chair’ ranges successfully launched in 2017.

According to the official press release, “Adunni” is a Yoruba expression which means ‘daughter of the sweet one’, and as the promo video below shows, the Adunni chair is born out of the same aesthetic as its predecessors.

Here’s what the brand had to say about the new chair.

We feel ‘the Adunni chair’ is the most appropriate in celebrating African Modernism. The striking elegant frame of the chair is made from Nigerian teak wood and for upholstery; we have used asò-oké gboro-gidi (solid) for the front of the chair and asò-oké onja-wú ati iho (perforated) for the back. This chair is a beautiful celebration of culture & art by Tosin Oshinowo

As we formally launch the Adunni Chair, we are very delighted to have Chidinma Ekile as our Muse.  We had a lot of fun producing this advertising campaign as we also worked with an amazing team of creatives to pull of the concept ‘THIS IS US _ AFRICA’.
