Product Design: Watch Kenya’s Tope Creations Making Glossy Crockery

Made in Kenya TV takes us through the process of making beautiful glossy crockery as demonstrated by Tope Creations, a local Kenyan enterprise specialising in glazed ceramics.

The name Tope is derived from the Swahili word Matope meaning soil. Aptly named, Tope creations shows how clay soil is transformed through a number of steps into a variety of beautiful ceramics with illustrated art, from mixing the clay soil with water, kneading, shaping through to heating, and of course the final product. You will get to see how the potter applies colour to pottery and how they are inscribed with some art. Watch, learn and enjoy.
