African Designers behind the Ikea Overallt Collection speak on the inspiration behind their work

At the Design Indaba Conference 2019 which held back in February, the team of African designers who collaborated with IKEA on the Overallt Collection, share the inspirations and motivations behind their products.

The Overallt Collection, which was launched during the conference, is the product of over 2 years of creative collaboration. IKEA had a desire to learn more about the contemporary African design scene and the creative explosion that is evident in several cities around Africa. From exploration to ideation, the result is a collection of products that is all about building bridges and discovering the “urban living room” together with others.
