Cape Town Furniture Week Set to Showcase The City’s Design Brilliance

Cape Town is gearing up for the much-anticipated Cape Town Furniture Week, a vibrant celebration of the city’s contemporary furniture design industry. Scheduled from today, February 14 to Saturday, February 17, 2024, this four-day event promises an immersive experience for design enthusiasts, industry professionals, and the public alike.

Organized by Gareth Pearson and Aimée Pearson, Cape Town Furniture Week aims to spotlight the city’s rich design heritage while fostering collaboration, community engagement, and innovation. Gareth, founder of Stadium, brings a wealth of experience in urban strategy, while Aimée’s background in product design adds a unique perspective to the event.

The second edition of Cape Town Furniture Week boasts an impressive lineup of activities spread across more than 25 venues in four different districts within the city center. From open showrooms and special exhibitions to product launches, talks, tours, and social events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

One of the highlights of this year’s event is the grand showcase opening of Clout/SA’s special display for CTFW. This exclusive exhibition, curated in collaboration with HUB, offers a voyeuristic and exquisite view of the city’s design landscape. Featuring a captivating collaboration between Kieskamma Art Project and David Krynauw Design, alongside renowned exhibitors like Wiid Design, Cara Saven Wall Design, Ashanti Design, Studio Kalki, Mash.T Design Studio, and Modern Gesture, this display promises to be a visual feast for attendees.

Central to Cape Town Furniture Week is its commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. All activities are free and open to the public, with no tickets required for entry. However, attendees are encouraged to register for talks and tours in advance to secure their spot.

The event is made possible through the collaborative efforts of exhibitors, partners, and sponsors such as VISI Magazine, Jack Black’s Brewing Co., Habitus, and the Gorgeous George Hotel.
