KIES by Maximilian Beck reminds of interrelations that take more time than we humans have on earth. The Collection embodies Becks idea that durable and sustainable design must work on an emotional level by telling stories and evoke individual associations.
Over years, sediments from mountain ranges are transported through glaciers and rivers until they reach the ocean – a process that slowly erodes the rough surface of the stones until a smooth and evenly shaped pebble is left. The Metaphor of Genesis of pebbles embodies a meaningful narrative and creates a direct contrast to the fast-paced world of today and gives the concept of „slow furniture“ a new dimension.
